Got takeout from a local Mexican restaurant and I’m so fat and happy right now! They had tamales! Their enchiladas tasted like mine! And we ordered churros for dessert even though we almost never order dessert.

I said it before, but Indian chillies will come over to borrow salt, get chatting, stay for dinner and then hold you up at gunpoint after dessert, mexican chillies will smash your door down, grab you by the collar and haul you outside for a solid beating

What I said was Indian chillies knock on the door, ask to borrow some salt, talk their way into a dinner invitation and then pull guns on you after dessert while Mexican chillies smash down your front door, grab you by the collar and haul you outdoors for a thrashing
It's at times like this when I remember the @nameshiv.bsky.social line about "Indian heat invites you in to come in, sit down, and then after about an hour mugs you, whereas latino spice just punches you in the face." (not exact quote, can't find because THE RICE STORY dominates search)

I'm 44 today. So far so good. Went out for Mexican for dinner and stopped at the fancy Italian dessert place for goodies on the way home.

Group ride ended up at Mill City Farmer’s Market. Got some Mexican Sweet Potato, Kombucha, and a vegan muffin for dessert. Worth the price, though I may swap dessert options next time I see that spot.

Starter: Fresh cooked tortilla chips and a flavorful red salsa. Growing up Mexican, it was always at every holiday get-together
Main: chorizo pasta. Two of my favorite foods in one. Unapologetically unique.
Dessert: a warm Mexican brownie with vanilla ice cream. Sweet, but definitely spicy 💅🏼

Goodbye 30s! I succeeded in seeing 40 bird species for my 40th birthday. Several lizards also greeted me with aggressive pushups. Now I will consume a copious amount of Mexican food, a prickly pear margarita, and have tiramisu cheesecake for dessert. Thank you for all the birthday wishes 💚💫
