Summary of PyCoMo (A) Automated steps in creating compartmentalized community metabolic models. Final model components traceable to their origin. Models can be saved in SBML format with original flux bounds for reuse. Mass and charge balance checked, including external metabolites. Model structure adjustable for growth or abundance (B) Feasible compositions at different growth rates in a three-species biogas community: Desulfovibrio vulgaris (DV), Methanospirillum hungatei (MH), Methanosarcina barkeri (MH). Medium contains ethanol and CO2; ethanol is Desulfovibrio vulgaris' substrate, producing substrates for other members (C) Visualization of community metabolic model and cross-feeding interactions using ScyNet.
