Bernie and I went to the arboretum today. It felt like summer - 80°! - but that shouldn’t last. The bloodroots apparently appreciated the warmth. We also saw a parade of 7 deer crossing the path ahead of us!

Michigan daffodils have to be tough.

Interesting juxtaposition: this morning, city workers were blowing the remaining fall leaves, in the park next door. At the same time, I was blowing snow off our wheelchair ramp.

There are several clumps of daffodils, surrounded by patches of newly fallen snow. The green leaves look healthy. There are some yellow flowers just barely starting to open, and others that are perhaps waiting for the snow to melt.

Bernie was enjoying the sunshine, & had no interest in moving, until I showed up with his harness & leash - then he came alive! 😂 We’d barely started our walk when I made him wait, so I could take pictures of Dame’s Rockets, in bloom just north of Fray’s Park.

An old beagle sits along the trail. His ears are faded brown, his face has faded to white. His body is varying shades of dark and light brown. He’s wearing a red harness and a red collar, with red and blue tags. The background is blurry. He is alert, and no doubt wishes we’d be done with this photo business and resume walking and sniffing! This was also Bernie’s first ride in the Telluride. He sat tethered in the front seat, so I could keep an eye on him. I had to pull over once, because he tried rolling in the seat and got trapped by the tether. 🙄 He was much more chill on the way home. A chocolate tricolor beagle is lying on a blue and white blanket, on a grey car seat. We didn’t see much in the way of spring flowers, except for a few bloodroots, but the trillium should make an appearance soon. A bloodroot has pushed its way up through the fallen leaves, and is nearly ready to bloom. There are several more in the background.

There will be giveaways, new spring decor and displays in the shop, and a vendor market! I will be working on my inventory the next couple of weeks, but plan to stick with the Spring theme with prints and select notecards and canvases.
