I'm a professor with small kids, so I guess that I have been "microshifting" since before it was cool. I'm thankful to have a job where I have a lot of flexibility, and it's also why moving up in academic administration is not appealing at this point in my life.

So now they have a name for it. Microshifting.
For years I lead a team of remote cellular techs and this was template. Work & personal life integrated and balanced.
Sometime one takes priority. Sometimes the other.
If all buy in, it is a win-win.
