it always pains me a little when I see people say "I can't solder" etc. it doesn't need to be that way!
if you can write with a pencil, you have enough dexterity for microsoldering. the rest is just having half-decent tools and technique, and lots of practice.

microsoldering was the easy part.. somehow the system memory had become corrupted, but miraculously the vital console-unique encrypted information was intact. after much key dumping, decrypting, and regenerating of boot partitions, it is working again. welcome back, abby's Switch

While I was in a microsoldering mood, I thought I'd dump the emmc from a samsung TV motherboard that I bricked way back.
I was starting to wonder if the "dump emmc with SD card reader" technique was some kind of urban legend because it's never worked for me before, until now.

Even with my hurt and shaky hands I can still do microsoldering with relative ease. I revived a dead Emerald cartridge by migrating its ROM to a Japanese Ruby board. Testing for checksum and data integrity. The third picture is the original board. Yikes.
