I swear I hear a midiverb

Theres a few midiverbs...
In terms of technology the Microverb 1 probably sits between the original desktop midiverb and the midiverb II, but they all have that thick and dark early Alesis reverb sound. Its very much different flavours of the same thing.

Are there similarities with the midiverb as well? I ask because I recently modeled the midiverb in vcv rack.

You gotta rig up the Game Gear TV, man. Also nice MIDIverb.
September 25, 2026 at 4:58 PM
I've got the TV Tuner but sadly my Game Gear was stolen years ago! Must grab a 'new' one at some point.

And hell yeah, love the Midiverb II! Worth it for the bloom verb alone.

my left is my non dominant so it's mostly okay and i can still draw and junk but damn i was having so much fun messing with a fake alesis midiverb plugin and making some shitty shoegaze type attempts before this happened, why did smuckers natural peanut butter have to betray me like this

£1000 might seem expensive for a Midiverb II that looks like it was found buried in a field BUT it has “oasis” written on it in Tippex. So think again

Is he still at it? £850 for a Midiverb II….lol

Oh you like shitty reverb? Can you compile stuff for your target platform, because have I got a treat for you!

There are some precompiled releases.

It emulates a MIDIVerb by emulating the discrete TTL maths box in the shittiest way possible. It only works at 48kHz.

Send a stereo bus through a MIDIverb II who cares!

bro welcome to my LIFE

been importing them shits from japan for a few years now for dirt cheap. mostly ROMplers, synths, samplers etc, but rack verbs and stuff as well. it's so fun and no one wants them so they're next to free. even the "famous" ones like the midiverb ii and SPX90 are cheap now!
June 23, 2025 at 4:53 PM
hell and damn yes bröther
July 21, 2024 at 9:51 PM
Yeah, a few different pedals have stepped in to fix that, thankfully. I eventually just ended up getting a cheap SPX-90 from Japan and a MIDIverb II locally, then when I needed it live I used to use a loop switch out into a Yamaha REX-50 which was much more portable. But that was long ago, haha.

So over the last few months I've been amassing old PCM ROMplers and FM synths via Japanese auction sites. Everything in the left pic is new, then some effects units in the right pic as well.

I wasn't kidding about making a lot of old video game music.

I'm ready.

Ooh, I've been wondering about this: Is the MidiVerb just the reverb only of the QuadraVerb? Because I love the QuadraVerb's reverb, but didn't care as much for the menu diving.

I have an Alesis MidiVerb. One if its effects is described as "the sound your cassette player makes just before it eats a tape".
June 21, 2026 at 10:44 PM
I have loved him practically since he was born. I’m searching for a microverb but another midiverb could be a great idea.
December 10, 2025 at 5:37 PM
Truth is, I probably don’t need external reverb for what I do… But I don’t NOT need external reverb either. Lol.

I dig a lot of Alesis gear. The D4 was my go-to drum module from like 1995-2003. That thing sounded enormous. And the MidiVerb is a classic piece of FX kit. Good stuff!
