A surreal, vertically composed night scene unfolds inside what resembles a vast, abandoned railway station consumed by mist. In the lower foreground, a solitary dark-haired figure walks from left to right across a broad wooden floor, pulling a large rectangular case filled with intricate mechanical or electronic components. Their coat and loose strands of hair trail behind them, suggesting steady forward movement. Dense white fog fills the middle distance, where several tall, indistinct human silhouettes stand like fading memories. Emerging directly through the mist is the front of an old black steam locomotive, its round headlamp glowing faintly. Above it hangs an enormous luminous full moon. The upper half of the image dissolves into a turbulent dreamscape where beds, doors, chairs, dressers, lamps, railings, clothing, and pieces of entire rooms float weightlessly through smoky blue-gray clouds. Portions of bedrooms remain strangely intact along the far edges, as though private spaces have been torn from different homes and swept into the same nocturnal migration. Old station clocks appear near both sides of the scene. The palette is almost monochromatic, dominated by charcoal, silver, pale blue-gray, and moonlit white, creating a quiet sense of displacement and suspended reality.
