As an American kid who read a lot of British books I was so confused by mincemeat pies because I knew the Brits called ground meat "mincemeat" so when people hand "mincemeat pies" at Christmas obviously they were having ground beef pies and what do you mean "mincemeat pies" have no meat in them.
