Lots of good recs here but I'm afraid I have to issue an un-recommendation for Mindtouch- first, it's not an aromantic book (it is an asexual one and I have qualms about that) and second, the author is a Trump supporter and openly anti-queer these days, particularly anti-trans, it's been sad to see

Been reading through a lot of books lately, and I picked up one called Mindtouch on a whim. Took me a bit to warm up to it, I get a warm cozy feeling to read it now. However, I think it makes me feel somewhat lonely whenever I put it down..

I just don't understand how she could have written those books and had that thinking... it doesn't match up at ALL.
I was writing a college setting story similar to Mindtouch because I loved those books so much. Now I feel like I need to finish it just to replace Mindtouch in my head.

I liked Mindtouch by M.C.A. Hogarth, and the sequel, Mindline, part of her Dreamhealers series. I thought Mindtouch was very comforting. Mindline has more action and gets kind of dark. Wasn't able to read the third and fourth books due to lack of funds, but look forward to continuing the series.

I enjoy the Peltedverse but haven’t read many others. Her website has recommended starting places for connected series. I suggest either Earthrise, which starts a space opera trilogy (beat up trading ship, space pirates, etc.) or Mindtouch, 1st of 4, alien college roommates studying xenopsychology.
