#Misattribution
I consider this misattribution one of the funniest things I have ever seen, and the darkest

Such over-interpretation is not without consequence. It probably contributed to the misattribution of an ideological change underscoring Trump's narrow 2024 victory that caused weak opposition to his authoritarian push.

They did this kind of misattribution garbage with COVID too.

I have been tempted for a long time to write a SGW article about misattribution of arousal--euphoroa boners, more plainly-and the neurochemistry of why that shit happens in early transition.

I just don't want to talk about genitals for 2000 words.

@dsky.bsky.social Per friend that values their health less than me:

"So, essentially what was a misattribution for an ebola death iss now the next Gates-ian feature of elimination for the human race."

Lying by misattribution to get credulous people to ignore an entire school of thought is absolutely a form of silencing

I didn’t know this.

In 1816, Beethoven arranged the Ukrainian folk song The Cossack Rode Beyond the Danube as part of his 24 Folk Songs set.

It appeared as Minka, the russian Song - a misattribution common at the time. But it was written by Ukrainian poet Semen Klymovsky.

Saying you have huge respect for me in no way counteracts the super disrespectful misattribution of ill intent to an innocuous stack of books.

David was a good friend. I miss him.

This is ignorant.
Huge respect for McMillan Cottom and many of these are wonderful.

But why no Cyberlibertarianism (Dave Golumbia, who had Silicon Valley’s number earlier than almost anyone)?

And why the inclusion of Jarvis (a longtime collaborator, enabler, and financial grantee of Silicon Valley tech companies)?
Not pictured: End Times Fascism, Taylor & Klein and Expulsions by Saskia Sassen.

About a 1/3 way through.

No, it wasn't James Baldwin who said it. It was novelist Robert Jones Jr.

Snopes has an article on it confirming the misattribution.

Contrary to popular sentiment, lesbianism, spaces, communities, etc. tend to be the most expansive especially when it comes to transgender inclusion. Belief otherwise is rooted primarily in convenience for patriarchy, misattribution of tefism, and from queer people doing a misogyny.

Fix the misattribution now.

Replace the art ASAP.
I hate this and I’m sorry but Marvel Snap has a piece of misattributed art for sale and they appear to be unwilling to discuss what they are going to do about it. The most concrete statement they have made is that “conversations are ongoing internally”. Here’s the Art in question. 🧵

Cowboys are one of my absolute go-to examples about how "appreciation," appropriation, and misattribution can produce serious damage to racial histories, cultures and identities.

Ted Nugent literally admitted that he shit his own pants to avoid the draft, so the misattribution has a kernel of truth and has become something of a cultural reference.

I hate to ruin a joke by explaining it.

It’s a misattribution on IMDB!

fuck me man

on the one hand, hey, proof of what i was saying earlier about this industry being a fat fucking cash cow exploiting labor and furthering class divide

on the other, this is only going to contribute to the misattribution of blame re: sony

Maybe it’s a misattribution, but I’ve heard Dorothy Parker quoted saying nobody wants to write, but everybody wants to have already written.

This is a joke from The Office about misattribution of quotes, don't worry about it.
