The Mishnah is the oral tradition that is the bedrock of Rabbinic tradition, the foundation of the Talmud. Without the MIshnah, I'm not sure what Judaism would have been in a post-Temple world. And after the Bar Kochba revolt (the failed uprising not long after the Temple was destroyed in 70 CE +
