Edmonton Police Service has issued a Canada-wide warrant for Scot MacDermid, 42, following the disappearance of his two children, Lesley, 9, and George, 6. The children were last seen on August 28 at the Manning Town Centre shopping complex in northeast Edmonton. Police believe MacDermid abducted the children in violation of a custody order, leading to the issuance of a warrant on September 23. The Edmonton Police Service stated that MacDermid and his children were observed in Lloydminster on the same day they disappeared, with an unidentified man. Authorities have not confirmed if the family traveled beyond Lloydminster, but police believe they may have been seen in Saskatchewan or Manitoba as of September 17. The police have not issued an Amber Alert, stating that the criteria for such an alert have not been met. Staff Sergeant Robert Davis of the EPS child protection section emphasized that finding the children safely remains the top priority. MacDermid is described as five feet five inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. George is six years old, four feet two inches tall, weighing 45 pounds, with short curly brown hair and brown eyes. Lesley is nine years old, four feet four inches tall, weighing 45 pounds, with medium-length curly brown hair and brown eyes. Police are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of MacDermid, George, or Lesley to contact the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. The case has been ongoing since August 28, with the first news release issued 12 days after the disappearance on September 8. Police have been working to locate the children safely, and the case remains a top priority for the Edmonton Police Service.
