For what it's worth, lots of small businesses use Mitacs.... including the potato board. Not for AI... but it's a decent program to find head students.

NRC is fine (speaking as a former decade-long NRC tech) but the innovation comes from the universities. Putting money in Mitacs, CFI, and Tri-Council helps more, especially trainees.

So as someone who brings in these and sees course releases go the tricouncil winners (also me) but has to give up way to much federal funding in mitacs that it burdens students, I’d like to know. Because my work to bring these in (again 🙏) for universities to take overhead to pay me my time 🤯
