The city is moving forward on the North River (North End) catalytic redevelopment; Paul said Woodfield has acquired a property and will deliver townhomes for sale, rental housing, retail, and a new park following a city study that guided the plan.

After developers detailed a revised plan for the former Boston Store parcel, the board authorized Cheryl Mills to vote in favor of a TID 9 amendment that adds roughly $1.8M for infrastructure and site improvements tied to a public market and mixed-use redevelopment.

Two respondents to the town’s request for proposals offered contrasting redevelopment plans for 4 West Main Street: one emphasizes preservation and modest renovation backed by private trade credit; the other proposes a larger historic-preservation mixed-use overhaul with a community floor and higher construction budget. The Select Board asked for further diligence and will schedule follow-up evaluation.

The planning commission unanimously approved a concept site plan and related landscape and special-development findings for Hartford Mall Phase 6 (three buildings, ~69,524 sq ft) but attached detailed conditions including completion of a traffic study, landscape revisions, raised crosswalks, Knox boxes, photometric and utility coordination before permits are issued.

The Local Planning Agency voted to recommend approval of the Main Street Exchange design review, a 3–4 story mixed‑use project at 830 Douglas Avenue that includes an 89‑room boutique hotel, theater, food hall and off‑site parking garage; staff recommended approval subject to standard conditions.
