#Mkals
I love their yarns, but the last two MKALS have had ponchos and I think those are generally very impractical garments. The ones short enough to allow free arm movement that are more like a cowl or Dickey might work for outdoor sports under a jacket

I’m not an FB kind of person but I was on Insta for a bit and I saw his content there. Huge shawl guy - does MKALs for shawls often, maybe once a year?

It is only for Casapinka MKALs that I will bobble. Because I know her sections are short, so I can bobble a little. Pic of a non-bobble bit - 🧶

A couple of times I have gotten caught up in the excitement of a MKAL and not been happy with the project. No more MKALs for me.

Thank you! MKALs are fun!

I’ve done a few MKALs & now I’m thinking about it, my approach varied based on FO

Imagined Landscapes Gnome MKAL? Race through clues upon arrival

Romi Hill’s shawl MKAL? Waited to see where it was going & knit a couple clues at a time

Socks? Knit 1 clue, paused, did rest all at once

Random thought as I curse this 2x2 twisted rib… I think one of the reasons why I’ve never been able to get into the Stephen West MKALs (besides aesthetic preference) is I am so NOT a process knitter. 🤣🧶

Do it! (Just call me enabler 😉) I haven’t done a MKAL, but every one of Lyrical Knits MKALs has always looked good to me when they finish, so I’m going for it. 1600 yards, though 😳

Also really enjoy MKALs! Picking colors from my stash is so fun and it keeps me on track and motivated for the project. And love seeing other knitters projects!

I started on time and am still on Clue 1.😂 It is a great knit. (Lyrical Knits MKALs always are!)

Have fun!

Thank you. I love Halloween, and I have made two sweaters and two of the Halloween #Mkals from @TellybeanKnits, in the last couple of years.I also have a couple of pairs of socks.

#knitsky two projects done this month & I need to find an easy project for doing while watching training videos or at my local Irish pub. Flipping through my hibernating list on Ravelry & very tempted to cast on something new (or one of the MKALs which I have listed as hibernating)

Last clue is next week so it won’t be long. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t generally like MKALs. Saw this was crescent-shaped so decided to buy the pattern. I’m happy how it’s knitting up.

#ShowMeYourKnits Lace! This is a Quiet Stars cardi knit for a friend (i hated this the whole way thru but it turned out gorgeous- can't find a finished pic.) 2 Lyrical Knits MKALs which I adore- I want to make a 2nd Muppet Shawl for myself. And finally a beginning: started her new MKAL yesterday! 🧶

I LOVE her mkals- this one looks amazing so far!

You will love it! She writes so clearly and there are always videos of any potentially tricky new stitches. I've done 2 of her MKALs and they're among my favorite projects ever.
February 22, 2025 at 4:07 AM
My yarn-enabling friends would encourage you to join! Have you done one of her MKALs before?
January 28, 2025 at 10:17 PM
Thanks! There's a couple of designers I like to watch for MKALs, but I usually only participate in a couple, and never finish "on time."
October 4, 2024 at 12:48 AM
Have you done her previous ones? I always enjoy her MKALs and I think this will be my fourth.

knitting vicariously through the many others who keep up with MKALs!!

Those are lovely colors. I haven’t had the attention span for KALs in general, but I really enjoy seeing how MKALs come together. I am a knitter, spinner, new crocheter, and I want to pick up weaving once my loom is fixed.

Part 3 is out! We get to start the two fronts from the other side of the cable.
Contemplating adding a steek & working them in one piece so my colour fades match across the front.
Downside to mkals: I dont know what's coming next; if I mod the pattern will it break?🫣

I prefer knowing the type of project and some specifics of the construction (itr, fairisle, seamed, etc). However, I never finish MKALs in the alotted time, so I don't often join them.
January 20, 2025 at 6:10 PM
I’ve done these in the past & found it’s just not for me. I think MKALs are perfect for process knitters who love to try techniques. I am definitely a project knitter & want to have the item added to my wardrobe.
