Dreamed I got a hug from Suzy Cato, so that was nice.
Market outing in sideways rain wasn't *nice* exactly, but bracing!
Lunched on varenyky & mlyntsi from the Ukrainian stall.
A quiet day. Good to rest up.

Sorry to ask a frivolous question when so much serious stuff is happening. If anybody has an authentic 💙💛 recipe for Mlyntsi could you kindly share? I heard that there are kinds made with yeast and others not. Also some with buckwheat flour and not. I would like to try making them all.

Sure! Most of Ukraine's best-known dishes come with many vegetarian variants, such as varenyky, holubtsi, syrnyk, deruny, kutia, banosh, mlyntsi, beet salad, mushroom soup, etc.

🇺🇦Ukrainian word of the day: Mlyntsi! 😋
Today’s volunteer work at Chervona Kalyna in Kharkiv came with a delicious treat: homemade mlyntsi which are thin, pancakes—a perfect treat alongside warm porridge. 💛💙
📲 I’ll be posting more updates from our day of volunteering.

Ukrainians recently celebrated Masnytsia, a holiday that marks the end of winter and beginning of spring. WCK teams across the country helped communities celebrate by preparing traditional mlyntsi, thin pancakes similar to crepes. #ChefsForUkraine

there used to be a great mlyntsi stand outside of Lukyanivska station. I'm pretty sure it was there in 2016/17. I also found a great pair of Chelsea boots at the bazaar out back that I wore to pieces.
