I’d like to! Thanks so much for your terrific reporting on this and other important socioeconomic matters in the DMV. I lived in #MoCoMD for 15yrs, and noted escalation in Unhoused folks in that window. Earlier (late ‘80s) I covered homelessness in #SF, my hometown and am so pissed that it WORSENS🤦🏽♀️

Yep. Housing costs can be an issue in #MoCoMD (especially Inside the Beltway where we lived) BUT it’s a large county geographically, and I was very grateful for how its leadership apportioned funds districtwide AND upheld rigorous academics AND culturally-competent learning. It’s current Plight is 🥺

Same. We landed in #SS in mid-aughts. The eldest of our two was in 1st grade. #WoodlinES + adjacent daycare was/is exemplar. Next decade+ of them (4yrs apart) attending MSs + HSs was same, even as I coped w a stressful prolonged divorce (#MoCoMD is pricey re housing!) All staffs + principals were 💯

Coda: Here’s @nytimes.com 2013 report on its parting ways w @bostonglobe.com. At that time, we were living in #MoCoMD. I was newly divorced and ReSkilling from Journalism into #StratComms. News of the sale in 2013 made me Misty-Eyed, if also glad that the DMV market offered me many #MassComm options

Every year since initial release. I was in the first round in #MoCoMD in ‘21. Forever grateful that a few days prior, #NIH+CDC pulled down the #Johsnon&Johnson release—which I had signed up for! Went w/ #Pfizer after reading all materials and haven’t contracted CVD once! (🤞🏾) Plus, I always mask up 🤣

Oh! I hope @willjawando.bsky.social is on the mend. Can confirm first-hand as a former constituent of his in #MoCoMD (where he has been a Council members for years) that he is a terrific person and public official dedicated ethical, responsible, equitable service-delivery.
Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando, the Democratic nominee for county executive, is recovering from a heart attack that he suffered during a basketball game over the weekend, his office reported Monday.

*Glad I watched it live via @c-span.bsky.social. I’m a bit sad that I’m no longer based FT in #MoCoMD because attending the #NationalBookFestival is a highlight of the year (even tho I’m still TICKED OFF that Racist, Corrupt 47 fired the legendary Dr. Carla Hayden from top role at the LoC in 2025😡)

If #ThaiFood appeals AND if you have time to dip into nearby #MoCoMD / #SilverSpring, I recommend this restaurant. Its adjacent the Redline or a 20min car trip via #GeorgiaAve or 16thSt. Great menu, staff, vibe + pricing. ruanthaiwheaton.com

PS: I lived in nearby #MoCoMD for 15yrs. Rarely set foot in #Virginia. Visited socially or did biz in Arlington, Falls Church, Alexandria, Richmond, respectively, a few times. A decent state as I experienced it via limited direct exposure—tho it’s more rural/exurban parts just did not appeal me😬

Wish I lived in MoCoMD so my idol Raskin could be my congress person. Hope he stays in remission long enough to replace that cword as attorney general.
