xbox modxo modchip built, installed, and working! yay
If you have been following the #OGxbox scene, you would have probably heard about ModXo, a #raspberrypi based modchip. ModXo has been covered by Macho Nacho & others.

Next up the Topvint ModXo installation. The previous LPC rebuild had a couple of missing pins in the port, which I had to put back an resolder. The Topvint ModXo modchips come with PrometheOS and the latest Cerbios in the first bank.

The shields were sanded and repainted, and a 500GB SSD installed alongside a Startech SATA2IDE adapter and an ASUS UDMA ribbon cable. A ModXo modchip with PrometheOS was also installed, Cerbios 3.1 in bank 1, and the UIX Lite dashboard 😊

Well, I didn't design these #OGxbox ModXO PCBs (@modzvilleusa.bsky.social did), but I ordered and assembled them, which is an achievement for me 😅. They work great, too

Although my XBOX is soft modded, I really like the sound of the modchip on offer.

But the best feature of the ModXO is that it is based on the well known RP2040 microcontroller platform, and the firmware is open sourced, making it pretty future proof! For example, you can run the #PrometheOS BIOS, which starts a web server for futher customisation, all running in your modchip!

How can you get a #ModXO modchip? Well, you can make one yourself! The Team Resurgent website includes instructions on how to do this, as well as how to flash a Raspberry Pi with the current firmware.

open source lpc device emulator for the original xbox called Modxo (pronounced modsho, linked in embed), running PrometheOS which lets me directly format and ftp files into a new drive, as well as being able to run the bios of most modchips, attached through an adaptor by @modzvilleusa.bsky.social

yep! glad it only took a few hours for the repair work and can move this one along, got a 9 more customer boxes stacked in a pile near my bench ready for work. OG xbox up next for recap, cleaning, modxo modchip, SSD, etc
