This one reminds me of Modao in a lot of ways tbh between the pacing and narrative structure and the dynamics of the main couple. It also reminds me of Delayed My Death in its worldview not in a copypaste sort of way but in an alternative possibilities sort of way. It felt familiar and comfortable!

anyhow, as it seems I am reccing fic again this morning; an anon modern au I fell on the weekend, in which WWX meets and gets together with LXC... and then his brother comes back from overseas. things with WWX's new bf are fine, probably. but LXC is busy and a bit distant, and LWJ is around.

Week 4 prompts: Moonlight | Sleep | Fault/Forgiveness

🔞 Explicit

‼️ Mildly Dubious Consent
🍆 Top SL/Bottom XXC

Screenshot of the AO3 fic "Midnight in September" by Green_Riot Summary: Xiao Xingchen reaches out, fingers brushing the back of Song Zichen's hand. It feels good, too, and he thinks about how, just a few weeks ago, these hands wouldn't touch another person. Is it alright that Xiao Xingchen is touching him now, like this? Would Song Zichen mind while he's asleep? An inner voice cautions against taking too many liberties and overstepping the boundaries of Song Zichen's trust. What if he wakes up and decides to no longer allow Xiao Xingchen to touch him at all? There's some stronger, deeper compulsion within Xiao Xingchen that drives him to continue. It urges him to slowly pull down the covers. I coaxes him into untying the sash holding Song Zichen's sleep robe closed, and when it falls open, Xiao Xingchen quickly pushes his hands inside, resting his hands against warm skin. Song Zichen's breathing freezes on an inhale, and Xiao Xingchen stops moving, afraid he's woken him, but with a long sigh, Song Zichen resumes his deep cyclical breaths. What's a Daoist to do when he can't sleep at night? It wouldn't be exactly like Wei Ying was when he vanished; two years of memories would be missing, but it would be close. Lan Zhan could make do with close. He lived 13 years without him, waiting for the miracle that would return his best friend to him. This would have to be that miracle. In a desperate bid for closure, Lan Zhan uses AI technology to bring back his best friend, and it works... kind of. It doesn't actually work.

I think if I have to rank my top 5 favorite K-novels it's probably like...

1. S-class
2. Turning
3. Delayed My Death
4. 2ML on Strike
5. Bermuda

Something like this? If I don't make it K-novels only and add C-novels into it then everything shifts down one for Modao. Maybe.
