Today's modern music is truly a masterpiece: Anton Webern, Five Pièces, op. 10 is miraculous in its psychological depth, emotional range and breathtaking instrumentation. In around 5 minutes, Webern makes a whole world. youtu.be/HwX7jPdFsD4?... via @YouTube

Today's modern music is Humphrey Searle's (1915-1982) 'Night Music op.2' (1943). It's 'serial,' 'atonal,' gripping and emotionally communicative. It's ~9 minutes long. Give it a try.

Today's modern music is Arnold Schoenberg's 'Variations for Orchestra' op.31 (1928). It's his first '12 tone' music (atonal) for large orchestra. It's addictive to hear.
