Local architect Manuel Gomes da Costa was the leading light in the Algarve's modernist movement of the 1950s, taking inspiration from International Style buildings in Brazil and beyond. This is his Alfonso House in Faro, completed in 1960 #ModernistFaro #MidCenturyModern 🧵🇵🇹

The stunning Casa Gogo was designed in 1955 by Manuel Gomes da Costa for a wealthy client who had emigrated from Venezuela. The house needs some TLC but looks very original. #ModernistFaro 🧵🇵🇹😍
