There's a history of Trump in-laws monetizing the inappropriate access they get to government operations. Trump's presidency is first and foremost a moneymaking scam.

I don't think it can be stated often enough that they (and Weiss) viewed these changes as absolute moneymaking moves. They think there is a massive untapped market for what they are pushing and are stunned to be finding out that there isn't.
