@zalf.bsky.social Third sucessfull #MonksHillLab phd student. On 15.11.2024 Shrijana Vaidya gave a great presentation and performed really good during her defence discussion finally getting the well deserved Dr. rer. nat. from the Albrecht Thaer Institute of the Humboldt University Berlin.

#MonksHillLab news! The #AgroFlux component #SensorWeb has a new family member. Our "MonksHillLab Bluetooth App" allows to connect to our Low-Cost DIY sensor devices (e.g. for CO2, ET and NDVI) used for ecophy. research. The App visualize received data, saves it and allow for easy charing/transfer.

....our PHD Edem #AquaTrans with other @zalf.bsky.social colegues visited SARI/northern Ghana to discuss promising sustainable agricultural practices which might help to improve water use in western africa. He will start CO2/ET measurements with semi-automatic, low cost chambers soon. #MonksHillLab

@zalf.bsky.social Finally tested our new "collegue" today, a CNC desktop drill. With it, the capabilities of the "EcoTecAnalytics Lab" of #MonksHillLab (#ZALF_ECO) will advance even more....here alow cost PAR and NDVI Sensor (more details? see: zenodo.org/records/1794...)

#MonksHillLab and #KirisLab keep growing. From 2024 on a phd position (3+1 years) is offered in the working group of Biogeochemistry and Gas Fluxes (ZALF) dealing with GHGs and nitrogen cycling in vegtable farming (jobs.zalf.de/jobposting/6...)

First of a series of incubation experiments #MonksHillLab (Yvonne Ayaribil) conducts for #COINS. Together with #SARI (Michael Asnate), Goeffroy Sossa
and ZALF SIB we test how ASi and min vs. org N fertilization affect soil GHG emissions of different agroecological zones in West Africa.
