Está lloviendo tanto que se ha llenado la presa de los Caballeros en Montejaque (Málaga), una obra de ingeniería hidráulica fallida de los años 20, con un lecho calizo tan poroso que nunca llegó a entrar en funcionamiento. Han tenido que desalojar a 200 personas por si se desborda.

en montejaque hicieron este pantano fallido en los años 20 que jamás recogió agua porque está justo encima del sistema de cuevas hundidero-el gato y se filtra todo.

Built 100 years ago but had stood empty due to engineering errors. This was just before the worst rain and in the following few days filled to the top of the dam causing evacuations.

None of my target birds showed so the only thing I discovered is that I'm not as young as I used to be! But I did reach the pass from which the route drops down to the wonderful Llanos de Libar & on to Montejaque (18 km in all). Next few days I'll check sites on the eastern rim of the Alcornocales
