In July 1944 Lt St John Graham Young RTR (known as Graham) was serving with the Central India Horse in Italy. Late on 23 July 1944 he was leading a dismounted patrol SW of Monterchi which ran into a German minefield.

Both are commemorated on a tablet in the village square in Monterchi. Young's story (but not Ram's!) was (inaccurately) made available to the wider world in Victor comic in 1966.

At one time I had Rublev as best movie ever.

What’s funny is I think I might love Nostalghia anyway but I’ll never know as published a Piero essay which centers on finding that Madonna painting in Monterchi, Italy, so it became crazy personal. I’ll find the link and post it fwiw.

Such a stunning poem. The world is mad, as we know, but as long as artists continue creating their work, there is hope.
