At 143 visually confirmed 🇷🇺 material losses in 🇺🇦, May 2026 is virtually double the size of Apr (72 initially, 88 now), and it's news at 11 why.

At 147 visually confirmed 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦, Mar 2026 is essentially 2x up from Feb (72 then, 84 now). Quite a jump, largely attributed to renewed 🇷🇺 mechanized assaults.

But not only that ⏬

Here's quick #MonthlyLosses look at Sep 2026: at 83 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦, it's 🥱 the Lowest Month on The Record so far.

So far — because 2 out of the other 3 under 100, Jan and Apr, are at 100 and 101 now, up from 74 and 72 respectively, while Feb hovering at 97 so who knows 🤷‍♂️

With March 2025 over now, let's take a higher level #MonthlyLosses look at it. This time a quick one because at 301 total confirmed 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦, it's completely in line with Feb 2025, which in the meantime went from 295 initially reported to 321 now.

Jan 2026 has just ended, and right off the bat we're seeing what we've been anticipating for quite a while now: sub-100 month. At 74 scored 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦, there's not much else to say about it, except maybe 3 things.

With Feb 2026 behind, let's have a quick look back at it, shall we? At 72 visually confirmed material 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦, it's pretty much in the same ballpark as Jan (74 then, 87 now) — and yes, months under 100 seem new normal now.

Somewhat remarkably, last month (Apr) yielded nearly exact same amount of #MonthlyLosses as the month before (Mar): 303 vs 301. That, of course, means nothing as Mar went up to 350-ish since then. Here's some other things that don't necessarily mean much 🧵

This #MonthlyLosses update is going to be super quick since there's not much to say about May 2025 other than at 214 documented 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦 it's incredible 30% drop compared to Apr (initially 303, now 330), already quite unimpressive.

Here's a quick look back at Oct 2025. At 181 confirmed 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦, it's 📈 compared to Sep (141 then, 172 now). Even so it's still #3 lowest month all time.

Mildly interesting: IFVs skyrocketed 8x since Sep amounting to ~5x MBTs (vs long-time avg 2.2x).

Here's super-quick look back at Nov 2025, which has just passed. At 115 visually confirmed 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦, it's almost record breaking: only a touch above 106 we initially reported in Jul — although likely to grow just like Jul did and is at 163 now.

With Jun 2025 over, let's take a bird eye look at it in our #MonthlyLosses overview.

TL;DR: At 153 confirmed 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦 — 30% drop compared to May (214 initially, 234 now), which, itself, was 30% drop compared to Apr (!) — it's now the lowest month on the record 🤯

With Jan 2025 well behind us, it's now a good time to take a quick look back at it, isn't it?

At 263 total confirmed 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦, it's fairly low. In fact, last time we reported #MonthlyLosses below 300 was Nov 2023. Yet this is unsurprising, and here's why.

Our Jul 2025 #MonthlyLosses is going to be super quick: at 106 recorded 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦, it didn't plunge under 100 as we anticipated it might, yet it's now record breaking low with 30% drop compared to Jun... which was already record low at 153 (initially, now 172).

It's a new month, meaning it's #MonthlyLosses time to have a quick look back at Sep.

At 141 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦, 📉 since Aug (160 then, 197 now), it's the 2nd lowest month atm only above record low Jul (106 → 135). Interestingly, it's also the first time IFVs are below tanks.

Here's quick #MonthlyLosses look at last Jun, which in a lot of respects was nearly the same as May. It scored very much the same amount of confirmed 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦, to begin with: 151 vs 143 (initially, 150 now). But that's not all.

Let's wrap up the week with ultra quick — our favourite form-factor lately — #MonthlyLosses overview, shall we?

At 160 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦, Aug 2025 is a solid bounce back from historic low Jul (106 then, 126 now). It also happens to be the month 🇷🇺 crossed 20k on our list☝️

With Feb 2025 having just passed, let's do a quick #MonthlyLosses recap. There's not much to write home about simply because at 295 total confirmed 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦, it's very much in line with Jan featuring what looks like a new norm now. Let's have a closer look though.

With Apr 2026 behind our backs now, here's ultra-quick look at #MonthlyLosses

At 72 visually confirmed 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦, it's pretty much at 50% of Mar outburst (147 then, 155 now) back to Jan/Feb numbers, and now third sub-100 month on the record — all of them this year.

Here's quick look back at Jul 2026 #MonthlyLosses since it's over. At 131 confirmed 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦, it's 📉 from 151 in Jun — and very much at this year's monthly average. What isn't average is transport at #1 comprising half of the total — recent trend that remains.

Here's the quickest possible #MonthlyLosses update on Aug 2026: at 102 confirmed 🇷🇺 losses in 🇺🇦, it barely makes it above 100 — not at all unexpected, as well as transport at #1. Marginally interesting are SPGs at #2, half of them 'Mstas' from what looks like the same unit.
