A close-up photograph of a bright pink rhododendron flower in full bloom, positioned on the left side of the frame. The flower has delicate petals with small dark speckles near its centre, surrounded by thick, pointed green leaves on reddish stems. The background is a soft, dreamily out-of-focus woodland scene filled with lush green foliage, thin branches, and a prominent dark tree trunk on the right. The lighting is soft and natural, evoking a moody, damp forest atmosphere.

Bsky Posts as Resistance Art, Vol. 4 & 5.

I thought for a long time about whether @miawong.bsky.social’s ubiquitous trademark phrase should be worked into the first piece or be its own; I think I made the right choice. (I’m never making those fucking apple blossom flowers again, though. Jfc.)
Hand embroidery project; multiple colors on off-white linen in light brown circular wooden hoop. Image is red and yellow flowers in a sort of folk art style curling around the text from Mia’s post stitched in grey writing: “el pueblo unido jamás será vencido, motherfuckers.” The fabric is slightly warped where I pulled the thread too tightly around the “fuckers” part; for scale, most of the letters are less than a quarter of an inch tall bc why not make it harder. There are tiny gold beads stitched here and there among the flowers ‘cause I felt like it. (Project started with a pattern by artist BellaSavoy on Etsy but ended up altered a lot for text placement & bc I wanted more flowers.) Complex hand embroidery project. Three dragons outlined in purple & gold with metallic gold lines forming the shapes of their bodies fly among absurdly detailed clusters of white & pale pink apple blossom flowers & green leaves. In the center of all of this is small, all-caps text that reads MOREOVER, ICE MUST BE DESTROYED. (Project used parts of a pattern by artist MoodyGreen on Etsy, altered a lot in ProCreate.)
