The moon is trying to branch out and see the world!

A photograph of this evening's waxing crescent Moon, a lunar phase where only a small portion of the side facing Earth is illuminated by the Sun. This specific phase is often visible around dawn or dusk. The dimly lit part of the Moon is visible due to "earthshine," which is sunlight reflected from Earth's surface onto the Moon. This phenomenon is sometimes called "the new Moon in the old Moon's arms".
