You’re not going to find the Syrian mortar days—when Ranger mortarmen, who were second-class citizens in the Regiment for most of the GWOT, became Delta Force’s on-call fire support and fired an ungodly number of rounds—in any official history for a long time yet…

Met with my friend recently in Lviv, he now also serves as a drone pilot. Previously, he fought as mortarman.
Ukraine's military doctrine became more and more focused on drones, mortars have been eliminated from the battlefield at all.

I don’t have anything to add to the South Korea situation other than to say after we redeployed we got a new private in who transferred from Korea and his name was Scattergood and that’s just about the perfect name for a mortarman.

I’m just a simple country mortarman, not wise to the ways of data research and analysis, but it would seem to be premature to say this platform has been a failure at political influence when one of the biggest determinants of influence - political primaries and general elections - have yet to occur.

Since I cannot be in Ukraine dropping 81mm Mortar bombs as a Mortarman (skills from Canadian Army), my Wife encouraged me to write a book on the war.

Austro-Hungarian kleine Granatenwerfer 16 or Priesterwerfer, was developed in 1915 by a Hungarian priest. It's a 60mm spigot mortar and replaced an earlier 1915 model. It has a range of 460m/500yd, weighs just 24kg/53lbs and fires a 1.8kg/4lb shell with 400g of filler.
