Today is print and spray day.
Love the process of building up texture and form and then masking and spraying.

I’m lying on my left side for the next few days (retinal surgery complications). Here’s a pic from a few summers ago as we exited the Hole in the Rock / Motukokako Island, Cape Brett, Bay of Islands, Aotearoa

Spent the afternoon on a boat tour round the bay. Absolutely gorgeous but hoo boy the commentary was cringily dated eg “When Captain Cook discovered New Zealand…”. I am going to have to upset my holiday calm by writing an email.

A student group from Kamehameha Schools traveled to New Zealand’s Bay of Islands to visit Motukōkako, known as the “Hole in the Rock.”

During their journey to the iconic formation, the students encountered three orcas feeding on a yellowfin tuna.

The Hole in the Rock stands more than 60 feet high.

While our fishing practices have changed (along with ethics) I enjoy browsing this collection of images from the 1930s - 1950s. Some of the locations in the Bay of Islands, Aotearoa are recognisable to me e.g. Motukōkako - The Hole in the Rock

His latest clip is swimming through Motukokako The Hole in the Rock ... (I've done that while spearfishing but it was NOT part of this sort of swim!)
