#MountainStages
If we're talking real mountainstages, I don't think there's a result better than 82nd.

Can't believe my request for a Tim Merlier cam in the mountainstages got denied

Honestly, if I'm Ineos, I'm trying to put Gall under pressure in the medium mountainstage tomorrow. Gall likely will take time back in the real mountainstages, but he's vulnerable in more classic style stages, while Arensman is actually pretty good at them.

To be fair, it is a really weird TDS. No real mountainstages and almost no GC guys. If he was on another team, Christen might be like the 5th favourite.

Much better climber though, Deqlerq arrived with the sprinters in mountainstages. Rex is closer to someone like Benoot, his best results are also in hilly races.

Keep us informed about breaks and mountainstages please

Always so funny when a stage race puts in one mass sprint stage alongside a bunch of mountainstages. The only team that brought something resembling a sprinter to #TourOfTheAlps is Ukyo with Andrea D'Amato.
And I'm not sure he survives the climb with 20k to go.

I'd argue the hardest races "to get" are still the races that are too hard for a guaranteed sprint, but not hard enough that the strongest rider nearly automatically wins. Cobble and gravel races, hilly/medium mountainstages, windy races. That's where timing and tactics really start to matter.

With two mountainstages to go, I'd want every second. On that last stage, UAE can create serious chaos, especially with Visma not having much in the way of climbing support and no longer the luxury of two leaders.

It's hard to see how Cofidis turns this around as well. I'd be very surprised if Buchman gets higher in GC than Onley, even if Onley cracks in the real mountainstages. Coquard theoretically has opportunities for points in the next two stages, put there's at least 13 better sprinters here, including

Dude... just no.
Van Baarle can do that as well, he just wasn't asked to do that at Visma. I'd be very surprised if Kielich was asked to do that either.
But just look at his last year at Ineos, were he made the finale in the break on these mountainstages:

Can't make this up. Roglic just threw away his 5th in the Giro GC by relentlessly attacking from the start in the final two mountainstages (I'm second).
Too close to realism game.

I think he'll be fine climbing wise for a sprinter. If you see his results, he generally is ahead of the pure sprinters on the harder stages. Only on real mountainstages he slips into the bottom half. That usually means you're more Philipsen/Kooij than Merlier/Jakobsen

TheWing will win in time trial. But mountainstages will be Hard against Pogi.
