Mountainscape: Medicine Bow Peak in the Snowy Range, Wyoming
#FridayScapes #Scapes #Mountianscapes #Photography
Medicine Bow Peak, a massive grey mountain, its flanks riddled with snow fields, is a challenging climb any time of year. Here, in summer, it looms against a blue sky with incoming storm clouds. I often take scenic highways to avoid the interstates. This area has fond memories for me. I did my master's work up in the Snowy Range, and have fond memories of snowstorms in July, trying to collect samples in the driving rain (plus lightning! thunder! above the treeline!) in August thunderstorms, and wearing orange vests so that the hunters wouldn't shoot me in fall.
