Morning sun on beeches by Muker meadows in Swaledale
Angram is a tiny hamlet in Upper Swaledale, between the villages of Muker and Keld. The surrounding natural environment is rich: the wet grasslands at Angram Bottoms support a diverse flora and is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

A superb thread. One that resonates with my experiences in southeast Asia, as well as growing up not far from Muker (but my parents are southerners so I was never a 'local')

Yorkshire fresh air and listening to the River Swale for this week’s Sunday reset walk.
Thank you! We used to stay at the ‘Bridge House’ in Muker. But since the (incredibly lovely) hosts moved away, we’ve been spending our holidays in a cottage in Askrigg, where we feel right at home, or even better. There are stunning views and lovely footpaths almost on our doorstep.

The night sky has settled over the hills and dales at the close of another wonderful day.
Over Buttertubs Pass into Swaledale, then on to Muker, where we followed the River Swale towards Keld — a piece of Swaledale cheese in our rucksack and love in our hearts.
