Well the multiregion functions work at least!
Gotta wait for the Blu-ray player to arrive. Then im testing it with Beast Wars (since its multiregion for DVD) and as for Blu-ray, not sure what I'll test with it... probably Red Dwarf

LRP- May I suggest the Laser (au/nz) multiregion dvd player, it's under $100-ish. SO many multiregion players are stupid pricey.

The essay linked in this thread is fascinating, esp if you remember the 80s/90s: links the invention of the VCR to that of "hook IP" (why we have a multiregion DVD player), concluding with how the tr#mp tariffs actually represent an opportunity for the rest of the world to rip it up & start again.
They disinvented the VCR. You might think that the reason we don't have VCRs anymore is because VCRs were supplanted by DVDs, PVRs and streaming, but that's not the case. They had it in for the VCR from the very start, and they never stopped trying to kill it. Eventually, they succeeded.
