The NEC Multispeed EL
NEC (Nippon Electric Company) released this in 1987. It's not my oldest or weirdest system, but it's definitely the most portable so far.
It's got a nifty carrying case with a bunch of stationary pockets and dividers for the girlboss on the go. Complete with manuals.

"Multispeed Europe", is built on the assumption that countries move in the same direction, but at a different speed. That is not the case. Multispeed Europe does not solve the problem, it just adds to further fragmentation and re-nationalisation. It is a false good idea

UK policy players weren't wrong in saying there is a multispeed Europe and the UK could find a bespoke-ish place in its gravity
Where they were wrong is in believing the UK could set the terms of becoming its own little moon around the EU or that anyone else would want to join that specific orbit

I managed to get my hands on an original operating system diskette. I didn't /need/ it since I could get a .zip of it from online archives, but it look at it! In the original baggie!
The system had dual 3.5" 720K drives, a backlit blue monochrome LCD, and could be fit with a proprietary modem card.
