Voxel display tech is really coming on now. This is rendering in 3D in real time using Multivox. Intended for voxel screens but this is just the simulator.

Wow! I've never seen that super early photo of the VU! Is that John Cale on bass? It's a Marvel bass guitar which was the budget line of New York City based Premier/Multivox. It looks like Lou is playing a Gretsch. Thanks for sharing it!

This is a super rare guitar. And even more so because this model usually had 2 pickguards on both sides of the body. But, Multivox was a little random at times with the smaller runs. So they're not always consistent. It was built here in New York City.

Yeah they're def interesting. I'm pretty Egmond bought some parts from other companies. I've seen an Edmond that's made by Multivox Premier. And, I'm pretty sure those vinyl covered bodies might have been made by Hagstrom.

Beautiful guitar! I kind of feels like a PRS mixed with a 1950s Multivox Custom Scroll. sweet!
December 2, 2025 at 5:25 PM
Definitely! Multivox certainly had a flair for style. They made some sharp looking guitars.

Yeah, it's a beautiful guitar. The only downside to the Multivox Premier's is the binding. They must have used some kind of corrosive glue to adhere it. And, 40-50-60 years later it's caused the binding to break. But, the gold hardware & logo really make it shine. And, of course, some stellar tone.

They do look like the same pickups. The Multivox Premier definitely says Rowe Industries on the bottom. Nice call!

I finally found the photos of the hollowbody pickup. Check this crazy thing.
August 9, 2025 at 8:44 PM
Sorry, I was referring to the upper left. The solid body. We've had quite a few of the hollowbodies. But, even those are super hard to find today. I'll wrangle up fotos and post them this week.

The high-end Premier Multivox hollowbodies have really nice details and insane pickups.

It looks vaguely like Premier Multivox "Scroll" bass. I wonder if that was their design inspiration.

Rearranging the keyboards. Fender Rhodes Stage Mark I, Wurlitzer 200a, and Multivox MX-20 in a "stack" of keys thanks to the @vintagevibe stackers. All plugged into the Roland KC-300 amp.

Next stop is rearranging the amp wall this weekend. Stay tuned!
