1. Yes, this is real footage from Poland's Wrocław Zoo

2. The deer, a male muntjac (Muntiacus reevesi, aka "barking deer"), is hopped up on testosterone because its mate is in heat

3. Muntjac males weigh up to ~40 lbs (18 kg). Maruśka, the rhino, weighs 1.7 tons

Muntjac Deer (Muntiacus): The oldest known Deer species, estimated going back up to 35 million years. They are native to South China, Taiwan and India. Escapees have done very well in Europe. Photo of this Muntjac taken by Dave Dunn in the UK. #muntjac #deer #mammal #wildlife #nature #bluesky

I say goodbye to the weekend with a picture of the #Muntjac buck.
Doesn't he look magnificent🖤

Hard to believe that he is only knee high.
I was happy to lie down in the dirt for this.

Enjoy your weekend🍹🖖

I've seen more Muntjac (Muntiacus reevesi) in the last two days in Norfolk than I think I've previously seen full stop. Loads of them feeding openly on the roadside along the A149 between Snettisham and Sandringham, and a few seen at Titchwell. #mammals #ukwildlife #norfolk

Three Muntjac (Muntiacus reevesi) grazing in a field at Fishers Green a few days ago. Not quite as secretive and solitary these days. #EssexWildlife #UKMammals

The muntjac (Muntiacus reevesi) is an invasive deer species, known for its shy and timid behaviour. Personally I don't mind seeing and photographing them - OM1 & 150-600mm - 16th November

We were joined by this Muntjac deer (Muntiacus reevesi) a couple of days ago. It seemed to be eating the freshly cut reed. 🤔
If only they'd eat a bit more while it was still growing, it would save our scything team a lot of work! 🙂
