A new app called Seen Live has been launched, offering music enthusiasts the ability to rate DJ sets, festivals, and live shows. This free platform functions as a personal archive, allowing users to record their club nights, concerts, and other live music performances. Key features include searching for past and upcoming events, rating shows out of five stars, sharing experiences, uploading photos and videos, and creating a personal timeline of nightlife and live music activity. The app also incorporates social and discovery elements, enabling users to follow friends and other music fans, browse popular performances, and discover new artists, DJs, and venues through community reviews. Developed by Jordan Taylor, founder of the club culture platform Tough Luck, Seen Live was created to address the issue of forgotten live music experiences. Taylor highlighted the need for a centralized archive to revisit past events and share experiences, with the hope of fostering discovery through peer reviews. The app is currently available on the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad, though an Android version is not yet available. This innovation aligns with existing platforms like Letterboxd, which focuses on film reviews, and Spotify's Live Events feed, which tracks music venues globally.
