Sometimes I miss whiskey. It has solved and caused so many problems in my life. Like a toxic ex who's good in bed. Fun, but not worth the headache of a reconnect

One Year Sober

My last drink was September 30, 2024

I loved my drink. Vodka for breakfast moving to whiskey in the evening. 2024 was a particularly stressful year. I overindulged to the point where I was hospitalized with Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome (WKS)

Spent a week in the hospital, weening off booze and getting my brain rebalanced. Therapy next, both physical and mental. Couldn't get into an in-house recovery program, so tackled it with friends, family and therapy

Very humbling, but it worked
