Mythbusting with Travis Head about Travis Head
Travis Head spent a sleepless night on the eve of Australia’s Test against Bangladesh in Darwin. It wasn’t so much a specific threat in the opposition bowling attack or even the prospect of becoming the first Aussie batter to make a Test ton in every state and territory. What was keeping him up in bed instead had to do with the South Australian not having faced most of the Bangladeshi fast bowlers prior to this point.

I had a great conversation with @jimbaxter.bsky.social mythbusting the idea that games lead to violence, but also discussing their very real psychological effects 🎮

Find out why many experts now worry more about micro-transactions and loot boxes than games turning kids into serial killers

Enjoyed your Warwick Words talk this morning. Have bought 'Mythbusting'. I now really want to visit Maxstoke Castle. I didn't know much about the place before though have photographed the priory in the past as there's folklore attached to it.

Small boats dominate the headlines, but made up less than 2% of immigration from 2018 to 2024.

Arrivals from January to July 2026 were down 44% on the same period of 2025.

Mythbusting: AI Data Center Edition
Don’t be fooled by Big Tech’s talking points to push data centers into our communities. Get the facts behind 8 big data center fictions. To advance its dangerous push to expand AI data centers nationwide, Big Tech and its allies have turned to a host of misleading or downright false talking points. The truth is, the tech industry’s AI data center boom threatens communities across the country. They guzzle our water, raise our electricity bills, drain our resources, and pollute our air and climate. But the industry’s messaging aims to ease concerns and position data centers as “good” and “necessary.” We’re not falling for it. Learn the facts behind eight of Big Tech’s biggest fictions: FICTION: Data centers are “economic development.” FACT: Data centers are drains on our communities. AI data centers consume our energy, our water, and our infrastructure. They don’t bring many jobs. They negotiate lucrative tax breaks to avoid paying their fair share to the community in which they’re built. Any claim that data centers are “economic development” is a hollow corporate talking point. Some corporations are negotiating “Community Benefit Agreements” with communities, with several state leaders endorsing them. But these agreements are little more than a...
