I think it supposedly became "newsworthy" when the writer from Rolling Stone went bonkers and accused everyone who said they weren't familiar with it of lying.
I listened to about 30 seconds to see if I was mistaken but nope. Not my style of (rarely listen) country so my algo never recommended.

It's not being ignored. Women serve double+ sentences for the same crime. Women that behave like males and rape are in the headlines for years.

If this confrontation was newsworthy enough to dominate coverage elsewhere, it is fair to ask why viewers of these Fox programs apparently saw so little of it. Media outlets make editorial choices, and those choices deserve scrutiny.
