#NEXGUARD
Both of our dogs love Heartguard and Nexguard, as evidenced by the immense amount of drool when they appear. 😂 We are very fortunate!

Bailey could smell something delicious, & was refusing to take his Nexguard through sheer distraction. I gave up, & dropped it on top of his dinner. He ate around it and, when he was finished, took it very delicately over to the lounge to eat. At least he did eat it without needing encouragement.

I want someone to start investigating animal drugs. I'm paying close to $50 a dose for Nexguard and Heartguard, drugs that can't cost more than a dollar to manufacture and distribute. I'm beginning to think we're poisoning our animals snd that is why they're living shorter lives.

Was discussing exactly this when I picked up Nexguard this week.

Boo Hoo. The adage goes, "When you lie down with dogs you can often rise with fleas!" Somebody needs some NexGuard.

In good news for those with longer-haired dogs: every tick I’ve ever found on Bogart was dead. If you find a DEAD tick do not be alarmed, the Nexguard is working, the tick had no chance to spread anything.

Get your pets on Nexguard and check yourself out, folks.
Sadly even if you put on a Clifford costume apparently the vet is “not allowed” to prescribe Nexguard for you. There’s “a law”.

Change of topic from soccer:

Sam has been looking irritated by something on his backside. This is all we can find. It doesn't look like a tick - no discernible body or head - but it looks too firm to be a bug bite. Any ideas?

He's up to date on Nexguard so it shouldn't be a tick

strongly recommend something like Nexguard, which is a chewy flea medication so won't transfer to other pets.

this sounds absolutely terrifying, glad wee man is home and hoping he makes a full and speedy recovery

Poor gwamma. I hope the tick didn’t latch on — sneaky little devil. Mom has been Wonderciding the yard and using natural sprays on her and me (I have Nexguard until I run out; mom said she might try newer stuff). I’m not partial to the smells but more not partial to mom having her tick freakouts.

Pro meu cachorro eu costumo dar o bravecto. É mais caro, mas no parceladinho sai elas por elas comparado ao Nexguard. A vantagem é que só dou 1 comprimido a cada 4 meses, e nunca tive problemas com pulgas/carrapatos

Neither would Ollie. It’s funny she’s so picky- she is the one who ate a sock and then threw it up two weeks later. Also, ate three nexguard chews plastic and box included. Go figure.

I send a friend in thailand a little money every month to treat street dogs with Nexguard and send her son to private math and English classes (it'snot a lot). She sent me a pic of dogs with healed skin and her son studying math💗🤩😊

Nexguard, which she doesn't like, so she gets it cut up into a hot dog or tots

My new cat just vomited a lot and there were tapeworms in it. Fml. Thankfully the vet gave us some topical stuff called NexGuard to give her. I hope that helps

When I couldn't find the pkg, that was supposed to be "at the door" (we have 1 in front and this 1 off the carport), I called Chewy (it's Nat's nexguard). They apologized and issued another shipment (gratis).
Then, I saw the dang thing through the kitchen window.

gonna start buying nexguard for myself. that's safe for humans, right?

Bravecto is one of the ones you need a vet scrip for, I think, even in the US, but it's very effective for that and iirc Costco pet pharmacy carries it for a reasonable price. NexGuard is an old one that works in some places but not many anymore.

I was using revolution for the ear mites along with ear drops when needed. The new Nexguard combo does everything revolution does plus tapeworms, for like $3 more. The tapeworm tablets make them foam if it touches their tongue, so I’ll do just about anything to avoid using them 😭
July 20, 2026 at 5:28 AM
For ears I’d do a nexguard combo topical, since it takes care of everything, then if need be, animax ointment for any remaining ear infections

I understand a drug named Sentinel is a safe alternative to prevent Heartworm in dogs with seizure sensitivity .
How frightening that was for you and your pup.
Hope he is doing well and the cause of the seizure is related to the Nexguard and not something else.
