A pleasant few days @spurnbirdobs.bsky.social this week with a few nfy species. Highlights an American GP out from the Crown, a close up Hen Harrier S through Sammys, a Manx S hugging the nearside Humber shoreline and a nostalgic wander down to the Point.

@jowrotethis.bsky.social When you talk about cringe factor with shows… were you a Friends fan and when they leaned into Ross (specifically) getting into cringe setups, did it make you not want to watch? I’ve never been able to put into words why I can’t do certain shows (NFY is top of the list.)

A quick dash up to Carsington for the Spoonbill ✅️ . Obligatory look on the toilet wall produced Yellow-line Quaker nfy. #TeamMoth

In Windsor Great Park for a @ucllifesciences.bsky.social REF retreat, so of course took the moth trap. Only 110:17, probably thanks to the clear skies and moon. Highlights were my 2nd to 6th Deep-brown Darts, Feathered Thorn, Orange Sallow, and 77 Lunar Underwings, all NFY. #TeamMoth

Pink-barred Sallow was NFY last night & was joined by another Vestal (honestly, this is a wild autumn for them!) + Brown-spot Pinion & Barred Sallow all in the mix too. Decent return on a breezy, moonlit night.

Only 20 moths of 14 sp last night despite the mild and cloudy weather. However, Blair’s Shoulder-knot and Rhomboid Tortrix were nfy, Pink-barred Sallow provided some colour and a late Box-tree Moth is maybe a 2nd generation one. #TeamMoth @teesbirds.bsky.social

Good to find a very beautifully marked Beaded Chestnut in the trap this morning, NFY.

Plus repeat visits from very fresh Small Mottled Willow, Beet Moth and Cypress Pug after a long hiatus...

Always a good day when the first thing you find in the morning is a pristine Merveille du Jour moth sitting on the sheet next to the Peterborough moth trap - NFY. I always forget just how stunning they are...

101/45 was a decent return from last night. Dewick’s Plusia was the best moth, which took longer to say than it stayed on the edge of the trap! Deep-brown Dart was NFY and a good scattering of common migrants was welcome.Lesser Wax Moth is never common in the garden #teammoth
