Our tour of the deep skies continues with NGC2175, the Monkey Head Nebula. This one came in rotated 180 degrees, so I didn't see the "Monkey Head" element right away. But once I rotated it in Photoshop, it was super obvious! It's really weird seeing a skull in space!

This one will need a lot more time shooting - plus clouds started coming in..

NGC2174 and 2175 in Orion.

2174 is the nebula (Monkey Head nebula) and 2175 is the open star cluster embedded in it. Found next to the raised right hand of Orion it's relatively nearby at 6,350 light years away from us.
