The Leo Triplet is a trio of quite different galaxies: M105 (elliptical), NGC3384 (lenticular) and NGC3389 (spiral).
At the very bottom of the photo is spiral galaxy M96.
I have included a labeled guide.

週末の成果物その2、同じくしし座のM95, M96 & M105。有名な「しし座のトリオ」（M65, M66 & NGC3628）と比べると、銀河間の距離が離れていて人気はいまひとつだけど、それぞれ個性的な形をしていて案外面白い。

2月24日夜の撮影のメインターゲットはω星団でした。が、保険というか、何の成果も得られませんでした！！*1になるのは避けたくて、選んだサブターゲットはしし座の銀河 M105, M96, M95 のスリーショットでした。M105 はそれ自体が NGC3389, NGC3384 との三重銀河で、これらを一度に収める定番の構図です。実は過去にスカイメモS + BLANCA-80EDT + OM-D E-M5 で撮っています。このブログを始める少し前で、振り返り記事でも紹介しそびれていましたが、こんな結果でした。NGC3389, NGC3384, M105, M96, M95 (2016/12/10 …

The NGC/IC Project の Harold G.Corwin, Jr は NGC3379(M105) の位置を NGC3367 と取り違えて記録して、その相対位置で NGC3371, 3373 の位置を記録したため、カタログに間違った位置が掲載されたと推測している。
だとすると、NGC3371,3373,3367の位置関係はNGC3384,3389,3379のそれとよく一致することから、NGC3371=NGC3384, NGC3373=NGC3389 ということになる。

NGC3389 は NGC3373、NGC3384 は NGC3371 の別名があるけどややこしくて事情がよくわからない。。
