In patients with atrial fibrillation, left atrial appendage closure was noninferior to NOACs in an analysis of death from cardiovascular causes, stroke, or systemic embolism and was superior for non–procedure-related bleeding. Full CHAMPION-AF trial results: nej.md/4rSQuhY

the noacs really were novel

New study: NOACs like apixaban safe & effective for short-term prevention of blood clots in primary membranous nephropathy patients with low albumin—no VTEs, low bleeding risk. Promising alternative to warfarin! #Nephrology #VTE #PatientCare t.co/mSt3nhKMvm @isn-india.bsky.social

I believe most NOACs should support both. I'm not too privy on the technical details unfortunately

Follow the discussion! Is a vitamin-K antagonist superior to #NOACs?

Y de pronto sacan un artículo que pone en duda la seguridad de los anticoagulantes de acción directa frente a los antagonistas de vitamina K. ¡Qué dolor de cabeza!

Background Vitamin-K antagonists (VKAs) have widely been replaced by non-VKA oral anticoagulants (NOACs). This includes Austria, Germany and Switzerland, where as VKA, instead of warfarin, the much ...

Karolinska Institutet analyzed 7,308 human patients with Alzheimer's and atrial fibrillation, finding that modern blood thinners (NOACs) slowed cognitive decline — a human-relevant insight unobtainable from animal experiments. news.ki.se/blood-thinni...
Blood-thinning medication linked to slower cognitive decline
People with both atrial fibrillation and Alzheimer’s disease who are treated with modern NOAC blood-thinning medicines may experience a slower rate of cognitive decline. This is shown by a study from ...

If I'm not mistaken, I believe VRT is basically the only one left making NOACs though? So modern non-FPGA clones might be fairly representative of compatibility but I'm not completely certain which chip they're using.

Newer blood thinners can do more than just prevent strokes & atrial fibrillation. Researchers found that patients taking NOACs (Eliquis [apixaban], rivaroxaban, edoxaban, dabigatran) experienced a slower decline in cognitive function

it's hard to pinpoint what's correct sometimes! some chips never swapped them (um6561, um6578 - earlier noacs) and some others swap them in NTSC but not PAL. i think all VRT chips swapped them across the board until VT32 and VT369 but I might be wrong on that

Before, I mentioned something about NES-based clone consoles. Now I look into the NES homebrew scene and see a new JRPG type game using a custom mapper called the MXM-1 which pushes the NES far past its graphical and audio limitations, exceeding most enhanced NOACs like the VTxx chips.

🧠🏥 Interesting but not groundbreaking. Now use Full Neuropsych testing instead of MMSE and include WATCHMAN patients.
