IDK, if California can create an entire statewide takt no reason we can't either. We already have NECC and NORAC; getting together regularly to communicate changes and eventually sync schedule changes would be transformative.

I mean SEPTA with the same NORAC rules constantly departs outbound runs up to 10 minutes early, even on Amtrak-dispatched track! If it's really a safety issue this is nowhere on FRAs radar. What I'm proposing is a UX-based solution to guide good practice

Generally, I-ETMS and GCOR are used on the western roads, and ACSES and NORAC on the eastern roads.

There’s a bunch of other impediments to operating trains through. Stuff like Rules (NORAC vs. GCOR), crew qualifications, etc.
sure I guess there’s some potential efficiencies but it’s not earth-shattering. And in any case it’d be years before you really can leverage lots of them.
