This is actually a ribbon of squid eggs. Laid by a female diamondback #squid, each tiny pink dot is a developing embryo. These delicate, gelatinous spirals can be seen floating or anchored in shallow tropical waters.

I find it odd that the BBC isn't considered by Government to be part of the UK's Critical National Infrastructure (CNI).
It's under attack by a foreigner and Starmer's UK Government is doing nothing to defend it. Perhaps Starmer should make it CNI.
