Thank you to the Arlington House Chapter NSDAR for donating a TREX bench! 🌿 It’s already a favorite spot in our school courtyard—teachers enjoy lunch in the sun, and it’s helping create more outdoor learning space for classes! #OneTeamOneAPS

For the first time in my life as a Charlottean, I think I got shot at this morning while I was out on a run.

Cops are on the lookout for a guy in knee breeches carrying a musket.

I've been pondering my membership in NSDAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). One on hand I don't feel like the organization is a good fit for me. But on the other hand I know my patriot ancestors would be aghast at the direction the country is going in. I don't want their struggles forgotten.

And this is my annual reminder that Hayes was born in a gas station.

Not really. The actual building was removed in 1926 and the site became a Standard Oil gas station. It's still a gas station though a BP franchised gas station. A marker has been in front of the gas station since 1926.

It's done! It's live! I now want a few months back of my life lol

Anyway, if you would like to check it out, the link is below. It's for my DAR chapter and I will drag them into the 21st century single handedly.

That time I did genealogical #research for a new #friend and learned she's both a #RevolutionaryWar AND a #Mayflower descendant so we met up for coffee in #Plymouth to talk about it.

Only in #Massachusetts. ⚓️💙🤷🏻‍♀️

I love it here.

I saw a new to me portrait and some of my favorite period rooms during my Chapter’s visit to the NSDAR Museum today. My favorite period room of all is Washington, D.C.’s, shown here.

And there were those, like Jordan Freeman, who were freed by and fought for the Patriots.

I am a member of a flawed but changing society and I am proud of the direction it is going.

Of course, I should add that I don't represent NSDAR or WSSDAR in any capacity and these views are expressly my own.

As a #DAR member at large, I'm relearning things I'd been taught in #history class.

At our #chapter meetings, we recite the Pledge of Allegiance. 🇺🇸

We remain standing.

Then we state the following, which to me, feels far more meaningful.
