Russia blocked WhatsApp, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and ~13 other services. Technically domains were removed from the National DNS (NSDI) a state-controlled domain name system that all Russian ISPs are required to use.

Prism (NSDI'21) was great to bypass L7 proxy with TCP connection migration, but hard to deploy as it needs a programmable switch. XO (NSDI'26) removes this barrier and is applicable to real apps, nginx and Ceph!

CS researchers: NSDI 2027 explicitly declines to include work in some topics that are technically in scope (search for "Moreover, NSDI does not include work in…"). Are there other elite conferences that are also doing this? Pointers welcome, thanks!

I was so honored earlier today to receive the NSDI Test of Time Award along with coauthor Ethan Jackson on behalf of the full set of authors of our 2015 NSDI paper The Design and Implementation of Open vSwitch! #nsdi25

I'm unfortunately not going to be able to make it to NSDI this year. I love this conference and wish everyone attending a safe trip and enjoyable time there!

Upcoming NSDI has a same chair with Sigcomm, feeling like an endless reviewing process.

Very excited to attend NSDI'25 and present our interesting design Rajomon ⛩️
Our recent paper on an overload control system for μservice applications called Rajomon was accepted for NSDI 25 🎉

This paper was led by Jiali (@jia-li.bsky.social), who persisted and saw it through many resubmissions! The work started from an idea from 2021!

A big thank you to @muratdemirbas.bsky.social for covering our upcoming NSDI paper on his blog. The paper documents our adventures with “smart casual verification”, combining formal specification and model checking with validation of real execution traces from the Confidential Consortium Framework

"Mako: Readily Deployable Congestion Control Achieving O(1)-step Convergence" got accepted at USENIX NSDI'26! We show that delay and delay gradient can rival INT, enabling to reach the target speed in constant time, independent of network conditions, without requiring specialized network features.

The networking systems and database communities really need to talk to one another more. :) Optimizing the network stack with novel transports, kernel-bypass, RDMA etc has been one of the most active threads of research in the SIGCOMM, NSDI and OS communities for 10+ years now.
